略歴:
1961年,千葉県松戸市の生まれ.千葉県立小金高校 (1980), 千葉大学理学部化学科 (1984) 卒業.千葉大学大学院理学研究科化学専攻 (修士課程) (1986) 修了, 理学修士.東京大学大学院工学系研究科工業化学専攻 (1989) 修了, 工学博士.
千葉大学工学部画像工学科助手 (1989〜1998),千葉大学大学院自然科学研究科情報科学専攻講師 (1998〜2002), 同助教授 (2002〜2008), 千葉大学大学院融合科学研究科情報科学専攻画像マテリアルコース准教授 (2008〜2016) を経て, 2016年より千葉大学大学院工学研究院物質科学コース准教授.
妻と息子の3人暮らし.アマチュアジャズベーシスト.
Biography:
Yusuke Okawa was born in Matsudo, Chiba, Japan in 1961.
He received his BS and MS degrees, both in chemistry, from Chiba University in 1984 and 1986, respectively.
He also received his Doctor of Engineering degree in applied chemistry from University of Tokyo (under supervision of Prof. Tadashi Watanabe) in 1989.
He joined Department of Imaging Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University, as a Research Associate, in 1989. He became a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in 1998, and then an Associate Professor at Graduate School of Science and Technology, Chiba University, 2002, and then an Asscociate Professor at Graduate School of Advanced Integration Science, Chiba University, 2008. Since 2016, he has been an Associate Professor at Graduate School of Engineering, Chiba University. He was awarded the Gelatin Award of Society of Photographic Science and Technology of Japan (currently, the Society of Photography and Imaging of Japan) for his "Fundamental study on gelation process of gelatin" in 2002, and the Distinguished Service Award for his contribution to fundamental scientific studies about photography and the management of the Society in 2019.
He loves jazz music (plays acoustic and electric basses), and his wife and son, deeply.
